I've been performing the Gene Anderson newspaper trick for several decades – ever since I saw Doug Henning do it in one of his Broadway shows. During those decades, however, newspapers have gotten smaller. As they became smaller, I became increasingly uncomfortable with the location of the gimmick. The problem was heightened by the fact that the fold separating the gimmick from the edge of the paper was, when viewed by the performer, a mountain fold. As the newspapers became narrower, the trick became more "angly," even with Anderson's recommended "camouflage."
The Anderson setup (performer's view):

After experimenting for a while, I came up with a better setup:

I do not hold the rights to Anderson's trick and don't want to do anything to impair those rights. Accordingly, you will not be able to make sense of my changes of the Anderson fold unless you already know the Anderson trick. If you do know the Anderson trick, it will be easy to make the fold described in my instructions.
I am in the process of finalizing the manuscript on my fold. Bookmark this site and come back in about a week. It should be ready then.
